You don’t have to gain weight in December

Barb’s program was on Tricks and Tips for maintaining your weight during the holidays:
  • Savor Every BiteWear tight-fitting clothes;
  • Fool the food pushers (eat a very small helping, go back for another very small helping);
  • Focus on your favorite food, leave the rest; 
  • Plan ahead;
  • Join an indoor walking club;
  • Savor every bite (put your fork down between bites and/or stop at three bites); 
  • Substitute ingredients when you’re cooking.


TOPS News

Five TOPS and one KOPS were present at the December 4 meeting of Imperial TOPS NE0267. Lorna was the Best Loser.
Lorna, Cheryl, and Donna won cash prizes for losing weight over Thanksgiving.
Christmas TreeTOPS Tips listed in the Christmas tree decorating contest will be the challenges for the month of December:
  1. Drink 6-8 glasses of water every day;
  2. Walk/exercise for at least 20 minutes 3 times a week;
  3. Eat only fruit or vegetable snacks after supper;
  4. Try a new (or neglected) fruit or vegetable;
  5. Use small plate/bowl power every day;
  6. Eat all meals at a table.
The contest will end on January 1.

The Christmas party will be on Thursday, December 18, followed by a meal together at the Community Center. There will be no meeting the week of Christmas.
TOPS Club meets from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursdays at the Imperial Community Center, with weigh-ins beginning at 8:30. The first meeting is free.
