April’s Weekly Exercise Challenge

Set and meet a weekly exercise goal: whatever goal is more than you’re doing right now. Goals could range from getting up and moving for 5 minutes each hour you watch TV to walking the perimeter of your farm property 5 days a week or walking 30 minutes a day 5 days a week.

Contest Challenges

The Easter egg contest will end next week. Eight squares remain in the Move, Lose, and Win contest, with a prize of $40.

Community Service/Department of Public Health Challenges

Several TOPS members plan to participate in Mercy Meals packing on Monday, April 13, from 6-8 pm.
Several members also formed a team to participate in the Department of Health’s Walk to Health program, which starts April 5 and ends June 27. They’ll call themselves Imperial Toppers. Karen invites all members to meet at 8:00 am next Thursday to get some walking in before the meeting starts.

Meeting News

At the April 2 meeting of Imperial TOPS NE0267, Barb was the best loser and also won the Kept It Off certificate, which pays a month’s dues. Cheryl gave a treasurer’s report. Karen invites all members to meet at 8:00 am next Thursday to get some walking in before the meeting starts.

The three who attended State Recognition Days in Grand Island last weekend reported they enjoyed all the presentations, especially the skits, yoga, Zumba classes, and fashion show and were inspired by the Nebraska queen, who lost 108 pounds, and the king, who lost 64.5 pounds through TOPS.
TOPS Club meets from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursdays at the Imperial Community Center, with weigh-ins beginning at 8:30. Chapter dues are $3 per month; The first meeting is free. TOPS fees are $32 per year. Find out more at www.TOPS.org.
