Six TOPS and two KOPS were present for the December 12 meeting of Imperial TOPS NE0267. Donna was the best loser, and Shirley won a little cash in the Ha-Ha- drawing. The Yes-Yes for this week is to eat at least 20 grams of fiber each day; the No-No is chips, unless they’re baked.
Members reported their experiences writing for 5 minutes a day on subjects suggested as a result of Shirley’s program last week on journaling. Suggested topics for the coming week: Thursday: Write 5 minutes on a favorite Christmas memory; Friday: What I like about my TOPS group; Saturday: Positive thoughts about housecleaning; Sunday: Blessings; Monday: Beginnings; Tuesday and Wednesday: Free writing.
Karen presented a program about Christmas carols and their history, and members exchanged white elephant gifts in a game of Dirty Santa. The club collected $60 to donate to Mercy Meals. After the gift exchange and a couple of games, members ate lunch at the Community Center. Cheryl will present next week’s program.
TOPS Club meets from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursdays at the Imperial Community Center, with weigh-ins beginning at 8:30. For more information about TOPS, see their blog at imperialnetops.blogspot.com, phone Cheryl at 883-0265 or see www.tops.org. The first meeting is free.
