Diann presented a program on making breakfast food choices when eating out: bacon, eggs, and toast rather than pancakes; bacon, not sausage; poached, not fried eggs; cream cheese on your bagel rather than butter.
Regarding emotional eating, Diann gave this advice from Dr. Deepak Chopra: The next time you get a craving, stop and breathe deeply while counting to 20. Determine your hunger on a scale from 1 to 5. If you’re hungry, snack on something healthy.
Meeting News
At the May 7 meeting of Imperial TOPS NE0267, Shirley was the best loser for the week. Cheryl won a little cash in the Ha-Ha drawing.
Challenges
This week’s challenges are to eat a leafy or flowery vegetable or fruit that grows from a vine each day and set and meet a specific weekly exercise goal.
Programs
The Queen for a Day winner will be determined at next week’s meeting, with her “coronation” at the May 21 meeting. Other members will present her with small gifts, a poem, and a song.
