S-M-A-R-T Goals

TOPS NEWS

Seven TOPS and one KOPS were present at the July 3 meeting of Imperial TOPS NE0267. Lorna was the best loser, and Barb received the Kept It Off award. Shirley won some cash in the Ha-Ha drawing.

Challenges

Karen challenged the group to set SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely) goals each Thursday that will help reach monthly weight loss goals.

Two Yes-Yes challenges this week: Drink 6-8 glasses of water, and eat 2 fruits and 2 vegetables each day. Barb suggested a holiday challenge for the July 4 weekend: $5 to the person with the greatest loss: $3 to second place, and $1 to everyone who loses weight.

Picnics and Programs

Because of scheduling conflicts, the date of the picnic has been changed to Thursday, July 31, after the meeting. It will be a sack lunch picnic.

Shirley presented a patriotic program, reading the column by Senator Johanns that appeared in this week’s Imperial Republican. Next week’s program will be a roundtable discussion of health-related topics. Cheryl will give the program on July 17.
