No-Gain Week?

TOPS NEWS

Seven TOPS, one KOPS, and one visitor were present at the July 31 meeting of Imperial TOPS NE0267. Barb was the best loser, and Karen won a little cash in the Ha-Ha drawing for the second week in a row.

Weekly Challenge

The challenges this week are to drink 6 to 8 glasses of water each day, and for the chapter to have a no-gain week. Karen and Barb will provide a dessert and a salad for the August 10 dinner at the Community Center. In the Yes-Yes/No-No contest, Barb accumulated the most points, and Lorna was second.

Program

Diann presented a program on Willpower with these suggestions: Avoid mindless eating. Don’t beat yourself up Coconut Oilwhen you eat the wrong food; often the environment works against you. If possible, avoid places where temptation is too great. Clear your dining table and enjoy your meal without distraction. Rehearse your response to food offers before you receive them. Stay off social media when you’re hungry. Replace butter with coconut oil in baking and stir-fry.
Karen will present next week’s program, and Lorna will give the program on August 14.

TOPS Club meets from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursdays at the Imperial Community Center, with weigh-ins beginning at 8:30. The first meeting is free.

Recipe of the Week (from Karen)

Fresh-Corn-Salad-1Zucchini Vegetable Salad
6 ears fresh corn cut off the cob
1 pint cherry tomatoes, cut in half
3 small zucchini, cut and chopped small
Toss with dressing and top with 1/4 cup fresh chopped basil
Dressing:
1 T honey
1 T lime
2 T olive oil
4 T white wine vinegar
