No Gain Week!

The August 22 meeting of Imperial TOPS NE0267 was a no-gain week, with a total TOPS weight loss of 9.75 pounds.

Donna was the best loser for the week; both Carolyn and Donna received Kept-It-Off awards. A brief survey at the beginning of the meeting revealed that they both kept food journals during the week – an obvious advantage.

In keeping with that discovery, Shirley picked a double Yes-Yes for the week: Keep a food journal, and eat at least two fruits and two vegetables daily. The No-No is large helpings or seconds. Barb and Lorna will provide food for the September 8 Senior Center dinner.

Shirley introduced a new team challenge for September involving Yes-Yes and No-No, attendance, and weight loss.

Red and yellow onions contain quercetin, an antioxidant. Peg gave each member a garden-raised onion and a couple of  shallots, also a member of the allium family.

Carolyn will present the program on August 29 on the subject of yo-yo dieting.
