Which Came First?

chicken_or_eggThe program at the April 10 meeting of Imperial TOPS NE0267 was on eggs – and where eggs come from. Recent studies indicate that eating eggs is not associated with heart disease; it even raises HDL (good cholesterol). Eggs contain 77 calories, 5 grams of fat, 6 grams of protein, all 9 essential amino acids, and are rich in antioxidants, iron, phosphorous, and vitamins A, B12, B2, and B5.

Karen S. entertained the club with her stories of growing chickens for their eggs in their Chicken Palace. Discoveries she made: vetsonline.com is very informative for beginning chicken farmers; chickens with red ear lobes lay brown eggs; chickens with white ear lobes lay white eggs; there’s no difference in the nutritional value.
