“You gotta wanna” was the quote Diann used to introduce her program at the April 17 meeting of Imperial TOPS NE0267. “You gotta wanna” make changes in order to achieve a healthier weight.
Walking Buddies

How to Start

One simple change is to just get up off the couch and walk. Easy ways to start and stay motivated? Get a buddy, plan how many miles you’ll walk each day then keep track on a calendar, and walk early in the day.

Achievements

Eight TOPS and one KOPS were present at the meeting. Barb was the best loser for the week, and Donna received the Kept-It-Off award. Lorna added the next challenge to the “Make It Up As You Go” team contest: Take 4 slow, deep breaths at least 3 times a day. Contest scores: Tulips, 347 points; Dandelions, 380 points.

Contest Challenges:

Week 1: Walk at least 10 minutes every day.
Week 2: Eat at least 2 fruits and 2 vegetables every day.
Week 3: Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water every day.
Week 4: Keep a food journal.
Week 5: Eat one lean protein each day.
Week 6: 4 deep breaths 3 times a day

2014 Open House FlyerJOIN US!

The TOPS Open House will be April 24, at the normal meeting time, with coffee and a chat for those who want to stay afterwards. Former members will receive invitations to make it a homecoming celebration of Imperial TOPS 45th anniversary.

TOPS Club meets from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursdays at the Imperial Community Center, with weigh-ins beginning at 8:30. For more information about TOPS, phone Cheryl at 883-0265 or see tops.org. The first meeting is free.
