Four TOPS and one KOPS were present at the February 5 meeting of Imperial TOPS NE0267. Lorna was the best loser for the week, and Barb won the Kept-It-Off Award again.Challenges
The week’s challenges are the same as last week: 1) Eat a red fruit or vegetable every day; 2) Do an exercise that increases your heart rate once each day.Program
Lorna presented useful information on Vegetables: Crunch or Cook. Surprisingly, these vegetables are better eaten raw: beets, broccoli, onions, and red peppers. Asparagus, mushrooms, spinach, and tomatoes provide more nutrients when cooked.How to be healthier without dieting
from Reader’s Digest:- Take a 5-minute walk for every hour you sit;
- Make your bed – you’ll sleep better;
- Read for pleasure without distraction;
- Disinfect surfaces that tend to collect germs: steering wheels, doorknobs, phones, tabletops;
- Watch one less TV show a day;
- Shop for a doctor you love.
